Unit of Study: Unit 3 "Properties of Matter"
Learning Goal Student will be able measure and compare temperatures, mass and volume of solids and liquids. They will also be able to compare materials and objects according to their properties (size, shape, color, texture, hardness).
Vocabulary
1. matter – anything that takes up space
2. physical property – anything that you can observe about an object by using one or more of your senses
3. mass – the amount of matter in an object
4. temperature – a measure of how hot or cold something is
5. volume – the amount of space that matter takes up
6 hardness – how easily an objects shape can be changed
